About
Jaclyn Wilmoth grew up in the sultry swamps of Florida. She studied literature, comparative religion, and gender studies at New College of Florida, when it was wild and whimsical and weird.
She spent more than a decade living out of her backpack, teaching English, art, and environmental education in places like Prague, Thailand, New Zealand, and San Francisco.
In 2012, she traded her backpack for snowshoes to pursue an MFA in creative writing at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The Alaskan literary community gave her a home and introduced her to her husband, who is also a novelist. She now teaches creative writing at UAF.
In her free time, she talks to plants, follows the moon, and recreates Dancing with the Stars routines with her daughter.
She is the founder of Lightning Droplets, a blog about finding the magic in writing. She is co-founder and co-editor of Marrow Magazine, a literary magazine devoted to dark, feminist, surrealist writing.
